Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is designed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one email, but to appear as being sent from another one, often with the purpose to scam the recipient someway. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a unique record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers around the world get it. The record includes all the e-mail servers that are permitted to send legitimate messages from an email address under the domain. When a message is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if its sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the particular domain, the email message won't be forwarded and it'll be discarded. When you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam e-mails that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for every domain name hosted in a cloud web hosting account on our cloud platform with just a few clicks. The option is available in the Emails section of our amazing Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to use it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers which will be approved to send emails from your emails. As an additional option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain name only if it has our MX records, in other words if our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This feature gives you the top level of security, but it's not applicable when only your web site is on our servers while your emails for the domain are handled somewhere else. In either case, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses protected from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, which is provided with all our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, will provide you with an incredibly easy-to-use interface to activate the SPF protection service for every domain that you host in your new account. Several clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that and you'll only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server which will be permitted to send out messages from your email addresses. In case the email messages are handled on our end and not by another supplier, you will be able to increase the protection level even further and activate an option for the outgoing e-mail messages to be sent only if your domains feature our MX records. This option will give you more control and it'll eliminate any possibility of anyone faking your emails with the purpose of spamming and / or scamming people. It is not applicable in case just your site is on our outstanding cloud website hosting platform, while your emails are handled by some other provider.
